Macchiatto (Mäkēˈädō)

"This isn't what I ordered."

This is what I hear a little too often when I walk into a non star$ stores. Who doesn't like creamy, fluffy, sweet, savoury, caramel drizzled, amazing cup of not-too-coffee-tasting amazingness? But when people get a tiny 4oz cup with 3oz of real coffee, they think "this Barista clearly has no idea of what macchiatto REALLY is".

There are two types of traditional macchiattos: shot marked with foam and foam marked with shot. Espresso macchiatto literally means shot marked, so the prior would be more likely to be frequently served.

I dislike blaming others, but the star guys named it wrong and now majority of us are in a clueless state when it comes to ordering macchiatto. But please next time you are ordering a fluffy sweet less coffee tasting goodness, order latte macchiatto and it should save you the trouble.
